Richard Mille concludes a vibrant era with the RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramics

The definitive final chapter of a journey that began in 2021 has arrived, bringing a brilliant conclusion to an aesthetic exploration of color and form. Richard Mille presents the 2026 RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramics collection, a trio of timepieces that merge bold modernity with the storied traditions of gem-setting. Each of these three exclusive models is limited to only 50 pieces, making them symbolic objects of creativity and technical mastery.

Inspiration for the collection stems from the electric energy of the 1980s, an era defined by emancipation and the use of unexpected materials. Richard Mille revisits this heritage through dials that are rich in decorative techniques. Creative and Development Director Cécile Guenat notes that "these watches play on the juxtaposition of vibrant colours and contrasting textures, asserting a singular and disruptive graphic identity".

The dials themselves are a complex tapestry of materials, featuring grey PVD-treated red gold combined with colored ceramic details finished to the nearest micron. These are paired with laser-cut rubber appliqués and diamond-set components housed within white gold inserts. Adding to this structured geometry is the art of guillochage, a secular decorative technique where fine, striated curves are traced using a manual rose engine to play with light and shadow.

At the heart of these timepieces sits the in-house automatic CRMA2 calibre. Skeletonised and crafted from grade 5 titanium, the movement provides a 50-hour power reserve. The visual power of the architecture is highlighted by electroplasma treatments on the baseplate and bridges, revealing what the brand describes as a true laboratory of emotions.

The collection is presented in three distinct ceramic shades: blush pink, lavender pink, and powder blue. The chosen material is TZP, or Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystal ceramic, selected for its stability and resilience. Gem-setting these bezels is a particularly complex task due to the extreme hardness of the ceramic, requiring absolute precision for the mitraillage and the delicate hand-insertion of gold prongs and stones.

Each colorway offers its own unique play of light and gems. The RM 07-01 Blush Pink features a combination of diamonds with yellow and blue sapphires, while the RM 07-01 Powder Blue pairs diamonds with pink sapphires and tsavorites. The RM 07-01 Lavender Pink reveals an energetic display of diamonds, orange sapphires, and rubies. Together, these mastered harmonies celebrate a creative audacity that remains deeply respectful of watchmaking traditions.
